The hotel is located on the main esplanade leading to Piazza San Marco, 3 minutes walking distance along the waterfront, and out to the islands of Guideca and Lido, in the famous Riva degli Schiavoni. The hotel offers a magnificent view of the Lagoon and a special canal entrance for arrivals by water taxi. Rooms vary in size, but all are furnished and decorated in a typical Venetian style with ornate furniture and beige or pastel coloured walls. All rooms are elegantly furnished with ancient furniture. The Met Restaurant is the only Michelin-starred hotel restaurant in Venice, and one of only two Michelin-starred restaurants in the whole city.
The atmosphere is intimate and sophisticated, the service attentive and discreet. Generous windows offer a scenic view of the island of San Giorgio, while wood panelling, elegantly designed Fortuny lamps, damask cushions, warm velvets, comfortable seating, mirrors in seventeenth-century gilt frames, an antique Indian coffer, 19th-century Thai armour displayed on the wa
